Power literally drives the Powder River Energy Corporation (PRECorp) forward. More specifically, PRECorp is a partner to the people and member-owners of its service region, seeking to drive economic development through the mantra of “the power of many for the benefit of all.”

That is one reason PRECorp is excited to celebrate Economic Development Week (EDW) from May 6th - May 10th. Established by the International Economic Development Council, EDW intends to highlight the importance of economic development in communities nationwide. For PRECorp in northeast Wyoming, that effort is a collaboration of expert partners.

“Northeast Wyoming has the resources and service businesses need to thrive,” said PRECorp Vice President of Member Service Joe Roth. “Through the collective efforts of numerous highly skilled and knowledgeable organizations, we can help facilitate the growth and development desired in our local communities.”

The Role of Powder River Energy Corporation

Economic development is crucial in the growth and prosperity of northeast Wyoming. It encompasses various initiatives, from attracting new businesses to supporting existing ones, creating new job opportunities, and enhancing our community's overall quality of life. At its core, economic development involves various activities to attract, create, and retain jobs to foster a resilient and growing economy. This collaborative effort requires close coordination between businesses, government entities, and various community stakeholders to achieve sustainable success.

Powder River Energy Corporation dedicates itself to helping its member-owners and their communities with economic development projects through numerous efforts, including:

  • Business Resources: Support existing businesses to thrive and expand, creating jobs through infrastructure improvements and resource access.
