Campbell County

Campbell County is known as America’s energy capital—and for good reason. Thirty percent of the nation’s coal comes from here. A mix of related industries, including oil and methane extraction, helps to power a thriving regional economy and provide jobs for the nearly 40,000 people who call Campbell home.

Campbell is also known for its beauty, wildlife, and cultural attractions. Hunters flock there for the abundant game, while others head to the event facility, Cam-Plex, to take in a rodeo or a Broadway musical. Outdoor adventures include skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, and fishing in the nearby Black Hills of South Dakota or the Bighorn Mountains.
