Science Kids expanding programs for middle school age group, Johnson County residents

Local outdoor education nonprofit Science Kids plans to offer more opportunities for students this year in an effort to help school-age children expand their love for science.
Science Kids classes typically run from June through August each year and are offered to children ages 6 through 14. Science Kids Executive Director Julie Rieder said one of the organization’s main focuses this summer is to offer more classes for students ages 12 through 14 — as they tend to need connection with nature the most, she said.
