Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s new Director of Behavioral Health Brittany Goodvin is reviewing more than 500 unique mental health charts to gather foundational information that will shape the ongoing development of the Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, Healing (EmPATH) and Crisis Stabilization Unit.
As part of the hospital’s 2023-26 strategic plan, a leadership group has been established to address local deficits in access to care.
CEO Mike McCafferty said, during an Oct. 25 hospital board meeting, that Goodvin is in the process of reviewing 550 mental health charts dating from 2020 to present in order to gain a clearer understanding of community needs regarding behavioral health services. As planning on the unit continues to develop, Goodvin will be better informed to shape the unit into the best fit for the community.
