Sheridan, Johnson Counties Lead State in Self-Employment

Sheridan and Johnson Counties lead the State of Wyoming in the percentage of those self-employed.

According to a report from Wenlin Liu, Chief Economist with the State of Wyoming Department of Administration & Information, Economic Analysis Division, Sheridan County had the highest percent of self-employed jobs in the state at 50.4%, followed by Johnson County’s 47.4 percent. Crook County (42.9%), Lincoln County (41.7%), Niobrara County (42.1%), and Teton County (41.9%) all showed more than 40% of their populations as self-employed.

The county with the lowest percentage of self-employed was Sweetwater County with only 19.6 percent.
