The members of the Powder River Energy Corporation have worked tirelessly to provide energy for more than 12,000 people in Northeastern Wyoming, and with the initiation of Joe Roth as their new vice president, they plan to expand even more. Roth’s extensive experience in the energy industry makes him a fantastic choice for the new Vice President of Member Service, and he’s already shared his creative vision to increase member engagement, energy accessibility, and more.

Roth Plans for Diverse, Sustainable Economic Development

Right away, Roth kickstarted his time as VP by engaging with PRECorp members and the local community. Through these discussions, he learned while members wanted to increase economic development, they were primarily concerned about the potential for relying on a certain industry when considering economic growth.

“Our members want a vital community,” Roth explained. “They want a diverse economic base with a mix of industries and job opportunities, reducing dependence on a single sector while preserving the existing culture and small-town environment that our members closely identify with in northeast Wyoming.”

In addition to Roth’s plans to create a varied economic landscape, he’s also expressed concerns about improving the reliability of electricity in the area. Thankfully, PRECorp members have already laid a foundation for Roth to build upon. Through their investment in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), they’ve gained better insight into energy consumption in the area. However, according to Roth, the PRECorp team is “just starting to recognize the full advantages of this system, going beyond the mere measurement of energy consumption.” The technology’s benefits are directly in line with Roth’s desire to improve reliability. “This technology allows PRECorp to identify potential issues on the distribution system promptly, allow our team to take proactive steps to address them before they escalate into complete failures that could result in a power outage,” Roth added.

To continue its strong track record of energy accessibility, Roth plans to engage PRECorp members more than ever before. “We understand that our members are not merely passive participants but rather crucial contributors to PRECorp’s success,” he noted, explaining the importance of a human presence within the organization. Roth’s plans to increase member engagement include proactively involving members in discussions about new plans and potential technology investments.

“I believe that we all benefit when we engage in conversations about the advantages and potential repercussions associated with adopting and implementing new technology,” Roth said. Moving forward, he plans to ensure that all are welcomed in discussions impacting Wyoming’s citizens.

Focusing on Relationships for The Future

As PRECorp continues to expand energy accessibility in the region, the addition of Joe Roth is vital to navigating the rapid changes in the energy industry. By building upon the existing accomplishments that PRECorp has achieved, the corporation will undoubtedly continue to improve the lives of Wyoming residents.
