Cheyenne was named the fifth-best small city in the nation to start a business by a personal finance website, validating what local leaders say has been a concerted effort to improve the economic climate in Wyoming’s capital and largest city.
“I don’t necessarily find it surprising,” said Stephanie Meisner, vice president of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. “We really do focus here on having a positive and friendly business environment.”
Wallethub, the website behind the ranking, scored over 1,000 small cities across a range of metrics that were consolidated into three categories — “business environment,” “access to resources” and “business costs.”
