Wyoming Main Street seeks downtown advocates for Best Practices Workshop
29 Jan 2018
Registration is open for downtown advocates in Wyoming to attend the Best Practices Workshop, a two-day event hosted by Wyoming Main Street and leading into the National Main Street Center Conference.
The workshop begins March 23 with visits to Odessa and Warrensburg, Missouri. The tour concludes March 24 after swinging through Chillicothe and Kearney, Missouri. Each town is between 5,000 and 20,000 people, offering a similar perspective to rural Wyoming communities.
Transportation to the workshop and conference is available. A chartered bus leaves Evanston March 21, with an overnight in Laramie, and arrives in Kansas City the evening of March 22.
Cost is $200 round trip or $100 one way.
The trip is sponsored through a mix of public and private donations and focuses on how other towns have overcome obstacles toward downtown development, discovered innovative ways to improve the core of their communities and built better commercial districts for local small business owners.
The National Main Street Conference follows the workshop March 26-28.
